11. Inspiration

Before you start with the 30 Day Shop Your Closet Challenge, take some time to explore Pinterest and Instagram for outfit inspiration.

Follow individuals that resonate with your style, that way you can refer back to them easily in times when you feel less inspired by your wardrobe.

I like to create a separate folder in my photos for outfits that I love, so that I can access them quickly in the morning.

TIP: Try to look for pieces that are similar to what you have in your wardrobe (ie. white t-shirts) to see how others are styling them.

TIP: If you’re unsure how to style a particular item, check the website of the retailer that you bought the item from to see what they’ve paired the piece with.

Keep in mind, especially if you’re in the middle of the Shop Your Closet Challenge, the last thing you want to do when searching on a retailer’s website is get caught up in all the new pieces they have.

If you see an outfit that you love but you don’t have the exact same elements, use what you already have in your closet to recreate it.

As long as the main structure of your outfit is the same, playing around with proportions, color and pattern will still give you the same feel as the outfit you’re emulating.
