Like I’m sure with most people this year, I have slipped up on my routines, particularly my morning routine.
What was once a textbook definition of a ‘perfect’ morning routine has now turned into me sleeping in until the last possible minute, jumping out of bed, guzzling down coffee in a panic-induced haze and stumbling into my office to work.
Not ideal.
Like my morning routine (or lack thereof really at this point), I’ve slipped up on the sustainability front this year.
Instead of feeling like my past efforts are wasted, the next time I slip up (because there will be a next time), I’ve decided I’m going to do my best to brush it off, learn from it and move on, as difficult as that can be.
I’m also going to be prioritizing replacing the habits and routines that clearly aren’t working for me with ones that better serve me.
If you have fallen victim to boredom-induced shopping from fast fashion retailers like I have in the past, consider browsing sustainable retailers, perhaps local to you, before you purchase anything.
At the very least you may end up purchasing something sustainably made or simply realize you really don’t need anything and skip out on the purchase entirely.
Especially with the pandemic going on, shopping local is more important than ever.
